I just landed $300K in funding from the Department of Homeland Security’s Human Factors Group – historically a very difficult customer. The customer actually gave me $75K more than what I’d asked for. Since then, I have developed a trusted advisor position with this PM. She asks my opinion on program ideas and continues to send money almost without my asking for it. I attribute this success directly … specifically to the coaching I have been getting from Lenann.
As a result of working with Lenann, I have become much better at handling people who come to our booth at trade shows. We're having better conversations, which often result in interest, we do our follow-up activity in a systematic and methodical way, and we're getting purchases that I am sure we missed with our 'old approach'! Thank you for the wonderful talk you gave to our November 2010 National Association of Women Business Owners meeting. Our time together was much too short! We really learned so much about state-of-the-art selling skills – and I think a lot of our members got a much-needed update on what’s working now in selling. You’re right, we generally sell “the way we always have” and don’t take the time to update our approach. You have helped us to realize that selling is changing, and we must change, too!
